Welcome to Ballard Orthodontics. Serving Northern Idaho and surrounding areas since 2006, Dr. Rick Ballard and his staff are committed to providing high quality care in a warm and friendly environment. Our office offers multiple options for orthodontic care, including traditional metal braces, clear braces, and Invisalign and we are pleased to always provide the latest in orthodontic treatment for both children and adults.
Office Manager
I’m Sally. I have the best job in the world! I love building relationships with our patients and enjoy being part of their orthodontic experience every step of the way. I have over 35 years experience in the dental field and I have been with Ballard Orthodontics for 10 years. One of the best parts of my job is knowing that Dr. Ballard does a great job treating our patients and he is super to work with. Our staff makes work not even feel like work with their silly sweetness! My awesome husband Randy and I have a home in Sagle with our three year old daughter. She is the last of our seven children still at home. We also have 10 grandchildren “so far”. A fun fact about me is that I enjoy going to yard sales.
Receptionist
Hi, my name is Monica. I grew up in Sandpoint and I consider myself lucky to call it home. I completed a comprehensive approach to dental assisting course at NIC in 2016 and have been with Ballard Orthodontics since 2015. What I love most about my job is watching smiles transform over the short time patients are here, and the look of joy on the faces of those patients after their new, beautiful smiles are revealed. Dr. Ballard is an awesome Dr. to work for! He is extremely knowledgeable, positive, and a lot of fun. When I’m not at work I love exploring new hiking trails in the woods, sitting around a campfire with friends, and going on road trips. You can also find me at fairs and festivals in the summer time.
Orthodontic Assistant
Hello, my name is Julie. I have 22 years in the orthodontic field. I hold DANB certifications in CDA and COA. I have worked for Dr. Ballard since he moved to Sandpoint in 2006. My favorite part of being an orthodontic assistant is getting to know the kids and watching them grow and change. One of the things that makes it awesome to work for Dr. Ballard is how he makes everybody happy and excited to be here! I have been married 24 years and have 2 kids. I love being outdoors enjoying nature in all her aspects and especially enjoy hiking, camping, swimming, hunting, off-roading in the jeep, and having BBQ’s and bonfires. It is always a fun time around the house with family and friends.

Hello, I’m Lana. I moved to Sandpoint back in October 2016 and love it here. I have been in the dental field for 8 years, 4 years as an orthodontic assistant. I love seeing a patient from the first day of their journey to the last and how happy they are when their braces come off. Dr. Ballard is an amazing orthodontist and puts his heart and soul into every patient he sees. Some things that bring me a lot of happiness are my handsome 10 year old son and beautiful 5 year old daughter. They are my life! My husband is my rock! I love to go hiking and spending time with my family and friends.

I’m Ashley. I have 4 years of experience in the field of orthodontics and have been with Ballard Orthodontics since December of 2016. Being in this profession is rewarding because you get to see confidence grow every day. We literally make smiles. I love getting to know these wonderful kids and truly making a difference in their life. Not to mention we have lots of fun here! I also love that Dr. Ballard does everything he can to give our patients beautiful smiles. It isn’t just a job to him, you can truly see his passion. I grew up in Priest River Idaho and following high school, I went into the Marine Corps and spent time in Iraq. I have one daughter and two dogs, I enjoy hiking, exploring, painting, and most importantly spending time with my family.
